Sladden and Barton Residential Surveyors
Sladden and Barton is run as family business providing Residential Surveys to Property within a 15 mile radius of our office. This takes in Milton Keynes and Northampton along with all the villages in the surrounding areas, which is a large area. There will be some properties that we would not conduct a survey on, this is not because we do not like the area or village, it is simply that we may not have enough experience with that type of property. There are so many types of property that a lot of surveyors tend to become specific to certain types.
Why Choose Sladden and Barton Residential Surveyors for Your Property Needs?
Ian Birdsey is the main surveyor for the business, he is supported by his wife, Karen, who does the behind the scenes’ admin work. Ian has a BSc(Hons) from Brunel University in West London, which was mainly completed whilst he worked at Heathrow Airport. Ian has since retrained and is now a RICS accredited (Assoc RICS) Residential Surveyor, having a level 6 diploma is Residential surveying and valuation. He completed his MSc in Building Surveying at Northumbria University (distance learning). Ian is also a member of the RPSA (Residential Property Surveyors Association) as well as a chartered member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). He is also a qualified Domestic EPC Assessor for both existing and new build residential properties. He spends his spare working time completing his required CPD training to ensure that he is up-to-date with all the latest requirements to be able to do his job properly and giving you the confidence that the end result is worthy to be sent to our clients.
Ian has worked as a project manager and engineer on multi-million pound projects over the years, and has worked in some strange places and some very enjoyable places over the years. He always tries to do his best for his clients, this includes not booking too much work into the diary, so he is not rushed on your survey. He also uses his project management skills where he will take on day-to-day responsibility for some projects on behalf of the client.
We have included a short video about what a surveyor may do during a survey, this is courtesy of the RPSA.
